The Gothic Quarter, located behind the Ramblas, is made up of streets that end in picturesque squares with bars and restaurants in which to enjoy the views and the most varied gastronomy.
This is Barcelona's cultural centre, and on the Ramblas stands the renowned La Boquería market, the Grand Liceu Theatre, whilst the Gothic Quarter houses Barcelona's City Hall and the Cathedral.
There are several metro stations in this district with lines that go all over the city, although from here most of the main attractions can be reached on foot.
